It surprises me how many people who have already purchased investments do not understand this one basic concept of investing – what are you investing for. Years ago I attended a seminar and the speaker on stage, a man, said to the audience, "I bet I can tell you the goal of every person in this room." I thought to myself, "How in the world would he know what each of our goals are?"
Then he stated, "Everyone in this room has one primary goal: to be happy."
I had to agree, my number one goal was to be happy—but it's the definition of happy that will be different for each person.
